What We Do

What We Do

So part of keeping your creative mojo flowing is to learn new things, try out new creative avenues and find different ways to express yourself.

I am NOT a visual artist. Never have been. And yet I have discovered a couple of iPad drawing apps (notability, 53Paper & brushes) which I love. iPad in hand, waving my finger across the screen, I feel I am connecting with my creativity.

Also, I really do believe that ‘a picture is worth a thousand words.’ We all are faced with too many things demanding our reading time. I don’t know about you, but I can’t keep up. Whereas a nice image can give us a key piece of information. The world is full of great images and yet I think there is bad karma in stealing other’s images, and working around copyright can really limit choices, so I’m gonna make my own. Lucky you!

All this is a way of saying that I am going to be experimenting around here at The Thriving Creative. I’m gonna be trying out some images, I’m gonna try and make some videos (now that I have my internet challenge with Rebecca from career avoidance.com to spur me on!), some audio etc. We’re gonna mix things up. I’m gonna see how many of your senses I can stimulate while we talk creative entrepreneurship.

You can help me figure out what works and what doesn’t. I’m gonna create stuff. I’m gonna post it here on Thriving Creative and I’d like you to tell me what works for you and what doesn’t. That will make it a bit like a conversation, okay?

I’ll have you know that I woke up at 4:30am because the video challenge was on my mind. When I told my husband about it last night he said, “The guy [i.e. you] will be fine because he’s an actor…” then he just stared at me, leaving the bit about ME mercifully unsaid. Hey, but we gotta chase the dream, as in your image above. Looking forward to it!

I see your point; however, I think the expectations are HIGHER for me because I’m an actor! Will I live up to people’s expectations… I think I’ll take a hit of scotch, jab the record button and see what happens….

Well I went out and bought pipe cleaners yesterday for my video so I think you’re going to be just fine in comparison! 🙂

I’ve recorded mine. Just doing a bit of editing. No props in mine. Can’t wait to see what you do with pipe cleaners. #intrigued

Have you seen the competitions for music videos on Genero tv? I’ve been meaning to have another go – if you fancy a collaboration some time let me know.

Hi Alison, thanks for stopping by. I haven’t seen that. Let me check it out and get back to you if it looks like something I fancy. Best wishes.
