Using Canva for Social Media – Part 2 of Canva for Creative Entrepreneurs

Part 2 using canva for social media

Last week we brought you the first part of our three-part blog series, Canva for Creative Entrepreneurs [if you missed it, you can catch up here].

This week we give you Part 2: ‘Using Canva for Social Media’ which focuses on how Canva can help you promote yourself as a Creative Entrepreneur on a variety of social media platforms.

What can Canva do for you?

As advised in Part 1 of this blog series, thinking of communicating your information in bite size pieces enables your audience to take in and share what you’ve got more than ever before.

So how can you highlight your work as a Creative Entrepreneur on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc?

With the help of Canva, of course!

It starts with deciding what you want to say or share. Do you want to announce something new? Share a great quote? Or create a graphic for your latest blog post?

Here’s a sample Twitter graphic and Pinterest graphic we created for a fictional Potter, Lucy announcing an upcoming exhibition. Neither of these took very long to make using Canva’s easy templates.

Aim for your graphics to be professional-looking, simple and and easy to understand. These ideals will make sure you don’t waste your time exploring all the fancy fonts and complicated layouts. Keep it simple.

The more familiar you become with Canva, what it contains and how to use it, the quicker you will become at producing crisp, user-friendly graphics.

But do think about the content you are posting.

Social media has the ability to spread content quickly, which is brilliant if what you have to share deserves the interest and regard, but this could also prove to be very unfortunate if  you publish prematurely and without thought!

Use Canva and be bold, but check, check and check again.

With so many people sharing images on Twitter or Instagram, people are used to seeing high-quality graphics. To such a critical audience, the smallest spelling mistake will stand out as a notable blunder. You are putting yourself and your brand out there, so do it with care.

Put the effort in and, if you are consistent, over time you will reap the rewards.

So, now you’ve created the graphic. What’s next?

Post, share, engage, repeat.

Post, share, engage, repeat.

You get the picture, right?

It is a case of more is more.

The more you create and share interesting, beautiful or thought-provoking graphics (created in Canva, of course), the more you will become recognised as someone with something to say.
