I have two professional colleagues who are always talking about ‘their team.’ How ‘their team’ advises they do this, or ‘their team’ has plans to do this, etc.
Every time I hear it I experience a pang of jealousy.
I don’t have a team.
It’s me. My computer. My ‘cup of joe.’ And that’s it.
But I sure long for a team. I bet you do too.
Walking a creative path is never easy.
Never has been, never will be.
Walking a creative path while trying to earn a living and exist within your own ethical boundaries?
Even harder.
In fact I’d say it’s probably close to impossible to DO IT ALL BY YOURSELF!
It Takes a Village to Raise a Creative Entrepreneur
You need support. You need to travel with a pack. You need people to guide you, you need people to inspire you, you need people to walk with you and you need people to cheer you on.
In short, there are four kinds of people you need to get into your life if you want to succeed as a creative entrepreneur or pursue any creative path.
You need:
Idols
Mentors
Colleagues
Fans
As a special gift for my readers I’ve created a visual storybook about each of the four kinds of people you need on your team, what to expect from the relationship and where you might find them.
Enjoy.
