There are periods of time where you’ve got to put your head down and just get on with it. It’s a core entrepreneurial skill and this is one of those times.
I’m buying a new house, and there are so many things to do including fixing up the old one, dealing with Estate Agents, liaising with lawyers and arguing with vendors.
And I haven’t even tackled the logistics of moving or furnishing a larger home.
I really want to be in the new house – it gives me an office where I can work, be creative, make a mess, make noise and bring all the various bits of me together.
It also has a large open plan space which is great for leading creative workshops and teaching entrepreneurial skills to other artists.
However, I sure would like to skip all this in-between stuff.
In truth, I am giving birth to a dream.
A dream home, a dream life, a dream career.
While I have never given birth, I think I can imagine how painful it must be.
So it’s time to put my head down, grit my teeth and get on with passing this watermelon.
And trust that when the baby is born it will all be worth it.
What’s your big project you’re hoping to birth? Are you flexing your core entrepreneurial skills?
