A Fresh Perspective

May 22, 2012 by Steven Sparling Leave a Comment

Sometimes you think y0u’ve heard or seen something so many times that it has nothing fresh to offer you, right? Even great works of art, when viewed too many times, can seem old hat.

And yet, all it takes is a fresh angle or approach and it can seem as fresh as the day it was minted.

Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus from the Messiah is a spectacular piece of music, one of the best choral anthems ever, in my opinion. But I’ve heard it a million times and know it inside out. Or at least I thought I did until someone sent me this clip below. Have a watch.

Awesome isn’t it? And totally fresh. It brings The Hallelujah chorus to life.

What can we learn from this? What new perspective can you take on something old? Great art is not always about reinventing the wheel. Sometimes it’s about seeing the wheel in a new way.
