The Thriving Creative is written by actor, teacher, writer and creative entrepreneur Steven Sparling.

I’ve been a professional actor for 25 years in theatres across Canada and the UK and in London’s West End. I am currently on the teaching faculty of the Sheridan College and Randolph College in Toronto, Canada.
I’ve previously taught and guest lectured across three continents at The London College of Music (University of West London), The University of British Columbia, The University of East Anglia, The University of the Arts, Ruth Prowse School of Art (Cape Town, South Africa), Alberta College Conservatory of Music and Grant MacEwan University as well as teaching workshops at Be Smart About Art, Red Door Studios, Pony Express Speakers Club, RADA Enterprises, The Actors Centre and many more.
My writing has appeared in newspapers, magazines, websites and blogs around the world including The Stage Newspaper, Drama Student Magazine, Musical Stages, ViewLondon, and Square Meal Guide. I’m also a designated Certified Content Marketer by Copyblogger.
I hold a Masters in Creative Entrepreneurship from the University of East Anglia and I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths College, University of London. I also have a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Music & Theatre) from Montreal’s Concordia University, a Diploma in Theatre Arts from Grant MacEwan University, and a Diploma in Journalism from the London School of Journalism.
